Mother Veg Facility
Cannabis by Hance ConstructionHance Construction
Hance Construction converted what was an outdated agriculture building into a 5,000-square-foot “mother veg” facility for the growing and harvesting of cannabis buds. Additionally, the Hance team took what was an old shipping container lacking UL approval and retrofitted it to be a safe place for growers to operate. What started as simply installing an electric line, water line, and a drain line turned into a much larger and more robust project—and the facility ownership could not be happier.
At Hance, we view our customers as partners. That means when problems arise, we go above and beyond to find a solution. On this particular project, the company was receiving opposition from neighbors due to its ties to cannabis. Our team worked with the owner to navigate those issues, mitigating the risk of any community conflict.
Project Challenges
- Overcoming the obstacles of a non-code compliant shipping container grow pod.
- Navigating a project scope that expanded during construction.
- Addressed opposition from the community about a cannabis company entering the neighborhood.
