Techflex Warehouse and Office
Industrial by Hance ConstructionHance Construction
Techflex had an old warehouse and office with a leaky roof. The owner had worked with Hance Construction before, and came to us with a desire to eliminate ponding water without paying roof removal and disposal costs, in addition to a complete renovation and re-construction of the 50,000 square foot facility.
Location: Sparta, NJ
Project Size: 50,000 square feet
Our Role: General Contracter
Butler Products: MR-24
Hance Construction installed a MR-24 standing seam metal roof over the entire existing built up roof, including an additional layer of six inch fiberglass insulation for energy efficiency, and new trims and gutters. In addition to the roof, the front of the building was demolished for the construction of a mezzanine and 10,000 square feet of corporate offices, including a rotunda and new facade.
The rotunda was an uncommon feature. The architect's wanted it to "rise up" through the new metal roof, so Hance Construction developed a unique system of suspending the curved panels over the MR-24 roof to make it work. In the end, we were able to partner with the architects to give Techflex the manufacturing and corporate office space they needed, with additional energy efficiency and a cutting-edge design flair.
Hance received the MBCEA 2016 Award of Excellence for this project.
