Luxury Family Compound
Residential by Hance ConstructionHance Construction
Hance Construction was chosen to manage the construction of a family compound in an exclusive shore community. The home was comprised of four separate dwelling units with connecting balconies and decks, a 38-foot covered bridge linking the units, and a spacious and airy ocean-view game room above the four-car garage. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the size of this construction that was the challenging part.

- Hance Construction tailored services to overcome an extensive list of site challenges.
To begin with, Hance Construction led the client through the quagmire of permitting required to build at the New Jersey shore (DEP, CAFRA, etc.) Next, we discovered a number of property challenges, including a high water table and buried debris from a house previously located on the lot.
Over the course of the project, however, we sought and found ways to save the owners more than $30,000, without compromising the structural or aesthetic integrity of the project. For example, we used 600 tons of crushed concrete instead of crushed stone to reclaim the building footprint after the buried debris was removed.
